Looking for a Team — Let's Scale BookMerang Together
Hey everyone,
I'm Jake, the creator of BookMerang. What you see today — the virtual rooms, the exchange parks, the store, this forum — was built by one person using vibe coding with AI tools, and the pixel-art park maps were designed in Tiled.
But this project started long before the first commit. The original idea was born during the pandemic, when a small initiative to exchange physical books between neighbors proved that people genuinely want to share what they read. That experience became the blueprint for everything you see here.
BookMerang v1.0 is live. It works. But it's just the beginning.
The roadmap ahead is ambitious: real-time multiplayer parks where you can walk around and interact with other readers, in-app messaging, book clubs, mobile apps, and expansion to cities worldwide. This is bigger than what one developer can carry alone.
**I'm looking for people who want to build something meaningful:**
- Frontend / UI designers who care about user experience
- Backend developers comfortable with Node.js, PostgreSQL, or similar
- Community managers who love books and connecting people
- Anyone passionate about promoting reading and building community tools
This isn't a corporation. It's a project built on the belief that physical books should circulate, that reading connects people, and that technology should serve that connection — not replace it.
If this resonates with you, drop a comment below or reach out. Let's make BookMerang the platform every reader deserves.
